Practical and Sustainable Water Supply: Making the Most of What You Have
Abstract:The need for water supply reliability is driving many western water providers to enhance the sustainability and diversity of their water supply portfolios. At the same time, capital and operational costs are increasing dramatically, while revenues are declining due to conservation. To reliably and sustainably meet future water needs economically, some providers are leveraging the use of municipal return flows and more heavily utilizing existing major infrastructure to deliver raw and treated water supplies. In doing so, those providers are simultaneously addressing their fiscal and water supply responsibilities.
