Hot Off the Press! AwwaRF's Leading Research Report on New Methods to Recruit, Develop and Retain Employees to Your Organization!
Stealing from your neighbors
Expecting mandatory overtime
Providing a “sink or swim” employee orientation
Paying below other industry competitors
Do these practices sound familiar? Some organizations use these practices to manage their workforce in the 21st century. We have all heard it by now: Research indicates that more than 35% of our industry's workforce will be eligible to retire by 2012.
This recently concluded AwwaRF project helps utilities address this workforce crisis. The research team conducted primary and secondary research to identify successful workforce strategies in use by other industries, and to learn what is important about the workplace to students and young professionals about to or just entering the utility job marketplace.
Speakers will present actionable strategies utilities can use to improve their processes of recruiting and retaining qualified employees such as:
Targeting new pools of employees
Building multi-faceted relationships with educational institutions
“Grow-your-own” engineer programs
Employee life-cycle management
