Low Pressure Wastewater System Required after Natural Disaster
Abstract:Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated parts of Louisiana and Mississippi and Texas. The severe storms devastated many homes… Trailers were brought in to be used as temporary homes. One of the problems was finding the correct system to collect and then transport the sewage from these trailers to the collection point. A gravity system was not possible as there was not enough area under the trailers to install long lengths of pipe with the required slope. In addition, as the housing was “temporary” there had to be the capability of “moving” systems as the layout of the trailers were changing.
