Abstract:
A wave of personnel changes combined with an increasingly complex process led Denver's Metro Wastewater Reclamation District (MWRD) to look for a tool to help their operators respond correctly and quickly to process upsets and alarm conditions. MWRD implemented a Decision Support System that gives operators instant access to standard operating procedures at their workstations. The Decision Support System provides standardized responses to critical alarms, which eliminate operator confusion and uncertainty. Implementing proven responses in crisis situations has greatly reduced the need for post-incident recovery.Document Type: Research article
