TAKING FLOTATION THICKENERS TO THE LIMITS OF PERFORMANCE
Abstract:This paper describes the new DAFT complex at the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District in Denver. It describes some of the principal features, including the air saturation, entrance structure and polymer addition, all important to optimize performance.
The remarkable ability of the new DAFT complex to process extraordinarily high quantities of waste activated sludge, at loadings up to 235 lb/ft2.d, while still providing excellent performance in terms of thickened float concentration and solids capture, is described.
