Abstract:The City of Plant City, assisted by Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., performed a pilot study of various online nutrient analyzers at its water reclamation facility located in Plant City, Florida. The primary objective of the pilot study was to conduct a side-by-side evaluation of several analyzers, which monitor nitrate and ammonia levels, with respect to durability, performance, and maintenance requirements in the highly industrial-loaded influent. Final comparisons also included the cost of each unit. The findings of this study have been incorporated into the process control design of the plant upgrade to a biological nutrient removal system.
