Abstract:

INTRODUCTION

Iraq faces many challenges, which need to be addressed in order to secure a stable and sustainable future for the country, one such challenge is sustainable water throughout the country. Decades of disruption, including three wars in the past two decades and a lack of focus on infrastructure, issues and resources have led to the situation today. The goal to improve the water service in all of southern Iraq is laudable. In order to do realistic planning, a clear understanding of the water supply system and vision of the future is necessary.

Challenges are unique. An active insurgency, an influx of big money and multinational forces all working separately and together.
