ASSET MANAGEMENT AND PACP: A COST-EFFECTIVE SOLUTION
Abstract:Relating asset management goals to actual condition assessment inspections is a challenge for owners and operators of underground infrastructure systems. The short-term answer for historical CCTV inspection data is use of available software applications such as Microsoft Excel as an asset management tool. Coupled with the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP) observation system offered through the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO), sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems can be categorized, evaluated, and prioritized for MOM (Management, Operation and Maintenance) activities. A case study comparing the original and modified PACP scoring system will be compared. This methodology was recently utilized to prioritize 80,000 lf of sanitary interceptor for approximately $2M of rehabilitation.
