Abstract:

This paper describes an investigation of the causes of non-compliance at a large municipal wastewater treatment plant (POTW) that receives a significant seasonal nutrient-deficient industrial waste load and is required to meet an effluent total phosphorus (TP) discharge standard. The paper presents results of modified plant operation that has allowed the POTW to meet all discharge permit limits for over a year.
