FINE SCREEN RETROFIT CHALLENGES
Abstract:Many facilities are faced with the need to upgrade influent screening facilities in response to process changes and/or the need for increased plant capacity. Any plant upgrade and increase in capacity presents problems with respect to space and hydraulics, this is particularly true when the decision is made to upgrade from “coarse screens” to “fine screens".
This paper will present some of the key considerations and problems encountered with the retrofit of fine screening systems at several existing plants including the Region of Peel and the Alberta Capital Region.
