“NEW OFF-GAS TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES BASED ON PHOTO-CATALYTICAL TREATMENT AND IONIZATION DISCUSSION OF FIRST POSITIVE RESULTS FROM EUROPE”
Abstract:Effective odor control is an essential part of a successful biosolids treatment process. Odor concentrations depend preliminary on the wastewater and the characteristics of the raw sludge. The biosolids processing method is another factor influencing the odor concentration. Different odor control technologies have been applied on wastewater treatment plants, sometimes causing immense operational costs without being reliable.
Odor control basing on photo-catalytic oxidation and ionization has recently been proven to be reliable without chemicals, even if treating extremely odorous off-gas. Positive results from full-scale installations in Europe will be presented.
