Developing an e-Business Strategy for Public Sector Utilities
Abstract:e-Business has received its share of positive and negative attention during the past couple of years. From dot.com fever to dot.bomb fall-out, almost everyone involved in e-Business is wondering how it will play out. As the dot.bomb dust settles it has become apparent that the Internet is here to stay as a business tool. Utility executives and managers realize they need to take advantage of the Internet's business value, but where do they start. This paper presents a framework for developing an e-Business strategy for the public sector utility. It describes how that framework was successfully executed by the North Wales Water Authority. This paper provides utility executives and managers practical insight into how you can develop your own e-Business Strategy.
