TOTAL MANAGEMENT PLANNING – A TOOL FOR OPTIMIZING YOUR WATER BUSINESS
Abstract:Water Service Providers (WSPs) in Queensland currently manage water and sewerage assets valued in excess of 20 billion and demonstrate a considerable variation in the type of service provided, age and cost of assets, growth in demand, revenue level and staffing levels & skills.
The Queensland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has long recognised that Water Service Providers need to adopt a strategic, coordinated approach in planning and managing water-related services. This will ensure that infrastructure will sustainably deliver essential services, that service providers plan, construct and manage infrastructure using appropriate best practice and that least cost outcomes (on a long term basis) are achieved for the community served.
