HEAT DRYING: A REVIEW OF SAFETY ISSUES AND METHODS OF REDUCING FIRE AND EXPLOSION RISKS
Abstract:This paper reviews the safety issues related to heat drying of biosolids and the methods used to reduce safety risks. Included in this review is an overview of the drying process and the potential hazards, typical equipment safety provisions, operating safety issues, and how liquid processing before drying affects safety. Also reviewed is the use of Hazards and Operability Reviews (HAZOPs) to define and mitigate safety concerns.
