The contract operations industry has become increasingly competitive and challenging. There are new environmental regulations, population and political bodies with higher service and quality demands, more stringent accountability programs and regulations (GASB 34 / CMOM), diminishing resources, customer demands for stable or lower prices and cost increases for materials, supplies, energy, and labor. All of these challenges require a successful organization to re-evaluate its service and quality standards to maintain the high level of service delivered to its client. For an organization to be successful, it needs to initiate changes that will foster continuous improvement in the work place, allowing for rapid responses for change and growth – both now and in the future.
