Struvite Control - A Common and Nuisance
Abstract:Struvite deposits are quite common and actually found at just about every municipal wastewater treatment plant that operates anaerobic digesters. Fortunately, in most cases the associated problems do not exceed some required regular maintenance. Needless to say there are those facilities that are experiencing significant operational problems related to struvite deposits. The problems can range from clogged valves, frozen valves, failing instrumentation, to the virtual destruction of major equipment.
