Abstract:

The National Biosolids Partnership (NBP) has prepared the Environmental Management System (EMS) Blueprint that can be utilized by local wastewater agencies to prepare an EMS for their biosolids programs. Local agencies are encouraged to join the Code of Good Practice Club sponsored by the NBP. Over 40 public agencies are participating in the EMS Demonstration Program to help the NBP finalize the EMS Blueprint. Agencies committed to the program are starting to see many benefits including better internal staff coordination, public participation and community relations.
