The Federal Highways Administration, Georgia Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – Region 4, State Nonpoint Source Programs, local governments, non-profit organizations, and watershed groups are partnering to implement the Watershed Sign Program. This program consists of watershed signs placed on major state roads in the southeastern states to increase community awareness of watersheds. Special components to the sign program are the environmental education and stewardship activities. Although not mandatory for participation in the program, educational and stewardship activities are strongly encouraged to compliment the awareness component of the sign program.
