The Racine Wastewater Utility (WWU) will be utilized to study how the heat for pasteurization will be achieved with biogas from the existing anaerobic digestion facility. Operation details of the current anaerobic digestion facility will be presented. Heat balances along with a complete component and process description will be used to demonstrate how pasteurization would be implemented and still have a digestion facility that generates excess biogas.
