TRENDS IN BIOSOLIDS MANAGEMENT
Abstract:Biosolids management in the future might reveal new processes and management approaches. But the goals will continue to be the same as in the past. The goals for managing biosolids are to:
Decrease quantity of sludge
Increase loads on unit processes
Provide a useful product or byproduct
Develop implementable and enduring programs
The first four goals relate to items that deal with technology. The fifth goal addresses approaches, rather than technology. These five goals are discussed in turn.
