Abstract:

Green Companies seeking to embrace sustainability can use The Natural Step Framework as a guide and check for their activities and directions. The Natural Step Framework is based on scientific principles and consists of a set of Four System Conditions that serve as a guide for a sustainable future. Our present path of activities faces the “funnel” effect of increasing demand for natural resources and support systems, coupled with a decreasing capacity to meet that demand. Using these concepts, a decision-making “compass” can be devised to guide individuals, companies, industries and communities toward strategic business leadership and sustainability.
