COMBINED SEWER OVERFLOW ABATEMENT PROJECT ENHANCES WATERFRONT PARK AND REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, AND HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PLAN IN THE BRONX
This paper focuses on a description of a highway improvement project that in the course of its development incorporated input from several New York State and New York City agencies to produce a multifaceted project including highway improvements, development of waterfront parks, and water quality improvements resulting from CSO abatement. The practicality of the project centers upon a swapping of land, which has beneficial results for all participating agencies. The project serves as an example of how inter-agency cooperation can serve to benefit the community and environment.
