Stormwater discharges from Caltrans highways and facilities to urban waterbodies in the San Diego area have the potential to impact water quality and beneficial uses in the waterbodies. An assessment was completed to determine the water quality of waterbodies in the region based on existing information and to identify waterbodies and constituents of concern for storm water discharges. The assessment provided a planning level tool to help focus Caltrans efforts for water quality protection in the San Diego region.
