Abstract:

INTRODUCTION

The recently published “New Strategies for America's Watersheds” (National Academy Press, 1998), provides a thorough and reflective examination of the policy, science and practice of watershed management in the United States. This report is the product of a two-year study by the Committee on Watershed Management, a study committee formed by the National Academy of Sciences, National Research Council.
