Abstract:Discharge of nitrogen into surface waters is a growing concern. Many industries with nitrogen-rich wastewater discharges, including meat and poultry processing, food processing plants, metal processing, fertilizer manufacturing, nitric acid pickling operations, refineries, manufacturing, and others are facing increasing pressure to denitrify effluents.
