AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE NEED FOR THE ADDITION OF POWDERED ACTIVATED CARBON TO THE AMERICAN BOTTOMS TREATMENT PLANT
Abstract:The American Bottoms Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility (ABRWTF) in Sauget, Illinois provides activated sludge treatment of wastewaters discharged from residential areas and six large industries forming the communities of Alorton, Cahokia, Centreville, East St. Louis, and Sauget, Illinois. The treatment plant discharges to the Mississippi River just south of East St. Louis and has a design flow of 27 MGD.
