Abstract:

The influence of several operational parameters (e.g. air velocity) on emission of acetone, 2- heptanone and 1,2-dichloro-ethane by a Lindvall hood was investigated in a laboratory set-up. The results clearly show the influence of the air velocity and the water temperature. At certain operational conditions, however, the emission can become independent of the air velocity. A simple empirical model was developed to describe the emission by the Lindvall hood for different operational conditions.
