Abstract:
Domtar Communication Papers at Cornwall has developed a unique program for the beneficial use of mill residues. Since 1994, uses have evolved for most of the residues produced at the mill such as primary cellulose fibre, bark, lime and secondary treatment biosolids. From September 1995 to the present, all of the secondary treatment biosolids have been diverted to farms, forestry or land rehabilitation sites. In 1998, Domtar was able to direct to beneficial uses more than 95% of residues produced.Document Type: Research article
