ACHIEVING COMPLIANCE THE “PACT” WAY
Abstract:One of the key elements associated with obtaining and maintaining public acceptance for biosolids land application programs is compliance with regulatory requirements. Biosolids land application programs are subject to a myriad of different regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels. To achieve compliance with these requirements, Wheelabrator Water Technologies Inc. – Bio Gro Division (the Company) has implemented a compliance assurance system referred to as PACT.
The PACT program has four key elements – Prevention, Assessment, Corrective Action, and Training. This paper describes each of these elements and the program the Company has established under each of the elements.
