Abstract:

There is a hard nut to crack in designing wide-band microstrip antenna on a thin substrate for an application in conformal antenna. Frequency reconfigurable gives a blue print to solve it. A novel frequency reconfigurable microstrip antenna, in this paper, is proposed to design wideband antenna on a thin substrate with maintaining radiation characteristics. The proposed antenna can give bandwidth 7.0% and efficiency 90% on a thin substrate which height is only 0.01λ, when only 1.5% band can be made with a traditional microstip antenna on the same substrate.
