Abstract:

A boundary element method (BEM) procedure to obtain the capacitance of inhomogeneous insulated transmission lines is presented. The geometry consists of multiple, parallel and insulated conductor cylinders. The BEM matrix equation associated with piecewise homogeneous insulated transmission line is derived. Two representative computational examples, eccentric coaxial cable partially filled with dielectric and transmission line consisting of two parallel dielectric-coated cylinders, are given to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the BEM.
