Abstract:
In this paper, the problem of coupling effects of ultra-wideband (UWB) electromagnetic pulse into a rectangular cavity through slots is investigated. The finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is applied to analyze the effectiveness of various slot shapes on coupling into the cavity. It is demonstrated that on condition that all slots presented have same area, the energy penetration of the triangular aperture is lowest, and that of square aperture is a little higher than that of the circular aperture, and that of rectangular slot with wider side is maximum while it's wide side is perpendicular to the incident wave's electric field polarized direction.Document Type: Research article
