Abstract:

We present new analytical expressions for evaluating the coupling coefficients of multiple elliptical iris discontinuities in rectangular waveguides. By using these expressions a full-wave modal routine is established and used for ascertaining the limit of validity of the equivalent circuit presented in [1].

An investigation of the multiple aperture case is performed showing that also multiple elliptical aperture irises present interesting electrical responses (multiple reflection/transmission zeros) that can be used in practical applications.
