Data reduction and extrapolation for 3-D digital image

A novel approach of the data reduction and extrapolation for three-dimensional (3-D) digital image is presented. This approach is based on the methodology of mesh reduction and subdivision extrapolation operated on registered and integrated range images. The partial range images from different views are acquired by a phase-mapping based 3-D imaging system. The experiment results are also given to show the effectiveness of proposed method.
