Modeling self-trapped propagation in media with cubic nonlinearity
Abstract:In the framework of a variational approach, a mathematical model is developed of the self-trapped soliton propagation in an optical fiber with cubic nonlinearity. This approach allows me to explain mathematically polarized soliton oscillations in weakly birefringent fibers.
