Abstract:

When a Cos beam is apertured, it undergoes a phase shift as well as a focal shift. The propagation of relative phase shift of apertured Cos beam through free space is analysed. Based on numerical calculation it is shown that the variation rule of relative phase shift of Cos beam with Gaussian phase term is completely different from that of Cos beam without Gaussian phase term and means that the Gaussian phase term plays the main role in the description of relative phase shift.
