Abstract: Holographic reconstruction of images as a simulation of actual boundary conditions for the reconstructed wave is commented in connection with the possibility of simulation of other phenomena. When some non wavelike phenomena are simulated by reproducing the boundary conditions in a region some physical magnitude is reconstructed in a way that is very similar to that obtained in holography. The analogy can be used to generate new insights in the simulated phenomena.
