Diversity and distribution of Chilean benthic marine polychaetes: State of the art
Current knowledge of Chilean benthic marine polychaetes is reviewed. The history of the studies, researchers involved, the rate and localities of species descriptions are presented, as they relate to the assessment of biogeographic units along the Chilean coast. Taxonomic richness along the Chilean coast is associated with differential sampling efforts weakening the assessment of biogeographic units.
