New Record of Sosane Sulcata Malmgren, 1866 (Polychaeta, Ampharetidae) from Japan
Sosane sulcata is described from Wakasa Bay, Sea of Japan. Comparisons of the present specimens with the type specimens reveal that the present specimens have much reduced notosetae on the first three setigers and slightly longer pygidial cirri than the type specimens. These morphological differences are concluded to be within the range of intraspecific variations for the species since some specimens from other localities are intermediate between these two populations. Some comments are given on Jirkov's review on the genus Sosane.
