New Species of the Bairdi Group in the Genus Copidognathus (Acari, Halacaridae)
Abstract:Five species of the bairdi group of the genus Copidognathus were found in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico. These were Copidognathus bairdi Newell, 1947, C. gibberipes Viets, 1936, C. bairdiensis new species, C. glandulosus new species, and C. obesus new species. C. bairdiensis, C. glandulosus and C. obesus are described here, and a key to the five species of the bairdi group is provided.
