Phyllaplysia Smaragda (Opisthobranchia: Notarchidae), a New Anaspidean from Florida
Phyllaplysia smaragda is described from seagrass beds of the Indian River, Florida. The species is closely associated with manatee grass (Syringodium filiforme), and feeds upon scrapings of this species and its encrusting epiphyte, Erythrocladia subintegra.
The new species is the second Phyllaplysia from the western Atlantic, and is compared with three other American Phyllaplysia species.
