The nominal species of the ophiurid genera Ophioplocus, Ophioceramis and Ophioceres are discussed and their respective type-species are considered so closely related as to require the two latter names to be treated as junior synonyms of Ophioplocus. The heterogenous
nature of Ophioceramis is demonstrated and two species are placed in genera in other families.
