Gerdiella, a New Genus of Deep-Water Cancellariids

Abstract:The new genus Gerdiella is established for three species of deep-water gastropods having shells with cancellate sculpture and plicated columella. The type-species is Gerdiella gerda, n. sp., from the Straits of Florida; Gerdiella santa, n. sp., is reported from Santaren Channel and the Straits of Florida, and Gerdiella cingulata, n. sp., from the Caribbean Sea south of Jamaica.
