Caulerpa ollivieri Dostál, reported previously only from the type-locality on the Mediterranean coast of southern France in shallow water, is here reported from two deep-water stations in the eastern Gulf of Mexico off the mouth of Tampa Bay and near Dry Tortugas. Plants from the Mediterranean and Gulf of Mexico are very similar; the slight differences are attributed to the environment, especially differences indepth and substrata.
