Free Content A Checklist of Planktonic Diatoms and Dinoflagellates from the Mozambique Channel

A review of taxonomic studies on planktonic diatoms and dinoflagellates in the Mozambique Channel is presented. Owing to several deep-sea expeditions and regional surveys, this area is now sufficiently well known to be used as a reference for the Indian Ocean and for tropical seas in general. The critical list of species amounts to 345 diatoms and 189 dinoflagellates. Some considerations on biogeography are given.
