The Morphology of Larval and Postlarval, Chione Cancellata Linné (Eulamellibranchia: Veneridae) Reared in the Laboratory
The methods for inducing fertilization and rearing Chione cancellata Linné through an identifiable stage are presented. Embryogenesis, including development through the trochophore stage, is outlined. Organogenesis is traced at the premetamorphic and postmetamorphic levels by following the changes in each organ system. The possible use of nonskeletal systematic characters is discussed in relation to the ontogeny of C. cancellata.
