Free Content Distribution of the Planktonic Shrimp, Lucifer, in the Western North Atlantic

Off the southeastern coast of the United States, Lucifer faxoni is, as elsewhere, a coastal species, but it extends into Florida Current water. Oceanic populations are probably non-breeding and are the result of transport from coastal waters by the Gulf Stream system. Lucifer typus is an oceanic species, in this region associated with Florida Current water.
