Biological Investigations of the Deep Sea. 30.
A Survey of the Genus Ctenocheles (Crustacea: Decapoda, Callianassidae), with a Discussion of its Zoogeography and its Occurrence in the Atlantic Ocean
Abstract:The previously known species of the callianassid genus Ctenocheles Kishinouye, 1926, are discussed, and their geographical distribution in the Indo-West Pacific is summarized. The discovery of two species in the western Atlantic Ocean, based upon detached chelipeds collected by R/V Gerda and R/V Pillsbury, is announced, but the species are not named due to the lack of complete animals for proper description. The specimens are illustrated.
