Abstract:

The echinoid, Paraster floridiensis Kier & Grant, from Florida and the Bahama Islands is redescribed. Its similarity to the Pacific species P. rotundatus (Döderlein) and to the fossil species P. eustatii Engel is discussed. An abnormal specimen in which the pore-pairs of the posterior petals extend beyond the peripetalous fasciole is described.
