A Note on Three Specimens of the Squid Lampadioteuthis Megaleia Berry, 1916 (Cephalopoda: Oegopsida) from the Atlantic Ocean, with a Description of the Male
Abstract:The male and larvae of Lampadioteuthis megaleia Berry are described for the first time. The presence of a single penis and a hectocotylus, and the discovery of a rostrum on the pen prompt a re-examination of the characters that have placed this animal as the sole representative of the subfamily Lampadioteuthinae.
